Hello and welcome to Sacred Heart School,
On behalf of Reverend Silvio De Nard, the Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, and all the faculty and staff of Sacred Heart School, we thank you for your interest in our school for your most precious gift, your child. As you continue to explore SHS, we believe you will discover that it is deeply rooted in the principles of Catholic Education. We are proud to offer your child a superior academic program in a value-centered, faith-based environment. At SHS, you as the parent will partner with our highly skilled, dedicated faculty and staff to form an extraordinary community devoted to raising a new generation of confident, capable, and caring young adult. The benchmark of our success is not only measured in grades or percentages, but in the development of your child ready to explore possibilities and meet the challenges of life with wisdom and love. At SHS, it is our goal to foster your child’s growth intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. SHS strives to provide your child with the knowledge and skills that will prepare him/her to be competent in today’s complex society and accept his/her role as a co-worker with Christ in building a just future. SHS is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and approved by the Rhode Department of Education. Our academic program is based on national and diocesan content standards. It is designed to prepare your child for a college preparatory program in a Catholic high school. In addition to academics, our exceptional faculty, staff and coaches also provide extra-curricular opportunities for your child to participate in band, chorus, basketball, cross country, and more. Our Catholic tradition of service to others is rooted in faith, love, and service. The student body of SHS is diverse, spanning a range of ages, abilities, races, and social backgrounds. From this diversity, we draw strength and perspective. We emphasize pleasant and considerate behavior, and we teach that all human life is to be respected and valued. Religious education’s primary mission is to prepare students for a temporal and eternal life. Through personal and group prayer, attending Mass, reception of the sacraments and ongoing charitable acts, your child will experience first hand the power and love of Christ in his/her life. Your child can be given the opportunity to attend a school that has a well-maintained facility with the right-sized rooms equipped with appropriate technology, including classroom sets of Chromebooks, a gymnasium, cafeteria, band room, computer lab, library, art room, and academic support if needed. Due to our small class size, your child will receive one-on-one attention. The faculty and staff will come to know your child’s individual needs and interests. We hope you have enjoyed your discovery of SHS and you find it to be the best choice for your child. We enthusiastically welcome you to apply for admission and begin a distinctively Catholic and academically excellent journey. Blessings to you, Emily Cabo DaSilva Principal |
