Sacred Heart School follows the cancellation policies of the East Providence Public School Department. Please listen to your local news stations for the announcements that are aired. If Sacred Heart School chooses to delay, close or dismiss early, there will be a specific announcement regarding the change, separate from the East Providence Public School Department notification.
If school is delayed, both the school's start time and before care start times are delayed. For example, if East Providence announces an one hour delay, before care will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the school yard will open at 9:00 a.m. If there is a two hour delay, before care will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the school yard will open at 10:00 a.m.
For cancellations, students are expected to complete assigned lessons through remote learning.

School Messenger
In the event of a cancellation, early dismissal, or another emergency not related to a weather event, SHS will contact parents and guardians through SchoolMessenger, using the phone numbers provided on your child's registration form. The SchoolMessenger system will leave a voice message if you are unable to answer. It is important that your best contact number, including the area code, is on all forms and that you inform the school office immediately of any change.
