Sacred Heart Is a School of Many Blessings
Few schools our size enjoy the benefits of a heterogeneous student body such as we have at Sacred Heart. We enthusiastically welcome all to our community, and all of us embrace the ensuing diversity that enriches pupils and staff alike.
E pluribus unum, the Latin motto of the United States, applies to our school as well. Translated, it means “one out of many.” America has long been called a “melting pot” because of the millions of people who live together here from scores of other nations.
Just as our country is a single entity comprised of citizens from around the globe, Sacred Heart School is a single cohesive group consisting of students of different genders, races, ethnicities, cultures, and religions. Some are immigrants from distant lands or children of immigrants. As a result, a number of Sacred Heart students are bilingual, understanding and speaking English as well as their native languages. All of us are deeply grateful to be part of such a remarkable school family comprised of endlessly fascinating backgrounds!
Like American society as a whole, our school combines assimilation along with the relishing of unique customs, foods, and native dress that reflect the proud heritage of so many of our students.
While students who practice non-Catholic religions are embraced in our school, they still take religion classes and attend church services. Yet we respect their deeply held spiritual beliefs.
One of the many benefits of our distinct school family is that while celebrating our differences we cherish our unity as brothers and sisters, as we are all God’s children.
What a blessing!
