Fifth GradeThe fifth grade at Sacred Heart School is ready! We’re looking forward to learning all about our country. We’ll study our Native Americans and their way of life. We’ll then go on to learn about the first Europeans who came to the New World. Then we’ll study how our country came to be the great place that it is. Learning about our founding fathers and the development of the colonies which later became our great United States of America is part of our History curriculum. We’re excited to find out how and when our country was established. Science classes will introduce us to all kinds of Science, studying living things all around us and a little bit of physics, chemistry, electricity, the weather and the human body. Sounds like a lot to learn, but we’re ready! We are honing our math skills with practice, practice, practice. We’ll learn about decimals and fractions, percents, factors and multiples. Fifth grade will get us ready to learn algebra by the time we’re eighth graders. We have so much to learn! |

We’re taking part in the Rooster Games in Reading. We’ll read twenty novels and then we’ll judge the best new books for children in 2008! We feel lucky to be part of the process that will let other students know about the best books to be published during this school year.![]() Of course, the most important thing we’ll learn this year is about the seven sacraments in the Catholic Church, and their meaning. We’re studying about our Lord, Jesus, and His mission. Wouldn’t our world be wonderful if everyone followed what Jesus taught us? We’re ready to learn and excited about the opportunity that our parents are giving us by letting us attend Sacred Heart School. |
