Fourth Grade Welcome to our fourth grade classroom. The school year is off to a terrific start! The children have been working very hard and successfully making many new adjustments. Writer’s workshop has begun and it is a big hit. Students are expanding on what they have learned in earlier grades about the writing process including prewriting, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing. Fourth grade students begin to understand the importance of organizing their ideas so that it leads to a well thought out and accomplished piece of writing. They also will learn to master such skills as using age-appropriate vocabulary, adding details and elaboration. We know we are constantly learning, changing and growing so……we’ve created a Time Capsule with a list of our favorite things and our classroom goals….to be opened at the end of the year. It will be fun to see how much we have changed! This year will be filled with many exciting, challenging, and rewarding academic experiences in a faith-filled learning environment that nurtures spiritual growth and positive Christian values.
